About Mike Drury

Mike has been a specialist operator of Jimmy Jib camera cranes and other hot head based equipment since the mid 90s. He has worked across all genres, formats and environments; from sweltering exotic locations shooting feature films and TV dramas to minus thirty degrees for winter sports TV coverage.

Having been a partner of the grip and tracking company Off Trax from the mid 90s, then setting up Mike Drury Jibs in 2012, Mike has accumulated a vast number of top industry credits. He specialises mainly in the supply and operation of Jimmy Jibs but also has extensive experience in Technocrane, Towercam, gyro-stabilised heads and is an expert in car to car filming and stunt work. He can provide tracking vehicle, camera car jibbing and Russian Arm services in conjunction with his many long standing associates in the field.

Since setting up Mike Drury Jibs in February 2012, Mike has had the privilege of working with many talented crews on an array of high end productions. Examples range from the highly acclaimed Netflix original drama ‘Sex Education’ (notably the opening shot to Season 1), to feature films such as ‘People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan‘, through to high adrenalin tracking antics on Amazon’s ‘The Grand Tour’ and the BBC’s ‘Top Gear’. Another area of work that Mike really loves is the music industry. He has operated Jimmy Jibs, Hotheads, TowerCams and TechnoCranes on a huge number of music festivals and concerts and also enjoys the energy and creativity in making music videos, examples being ‘Mama’s House’ for Push Baby and ‘Cry Cry Cry‘ for Coldplay.
